A soft gust of wind, clearing a small gap in the clouds from which the weak sunlight extend itself onto the green field, the ___, the silent lake.
A soft gust of wind makes Jack's hair swaying, a small gap clears between the grey clouds. Pale sunlight extends itself onto the (yellow) greening field, the dry fountain, the bows on Lacie's dress and the gold chain that fastens a certain pocket watch in Jack's pocket.
//Autumn (?) Grey, pale, tired weak yellow light, mixed yellow and green fields, naked grey trees, dried brown leaves on the ground - swept by the wind, grass waving as the winds caress the land

TOUCHY ★
🖇️ char. Neteyam x Omaticayan! fem! reader
🖇️ warn. Spicy, jealousy, fluff
🎥 In which Neteyam is an extremely affectionate boyfriend whose love language is physical intimacy, and when some Metkayinan boys start getting a bit too flirty with you, be gets jealous and sulks
A/N Just a short drabble
Neteyam was your mate, and you were his. Ever since he first hooked his eyes on you a year ago, he had been obsessed with you in every way. The way you looked at him with loving eyes, or the way you never complained whenever he held your hand while you did whatever you needed to do. You understood Neteyam loved being physically intact with you.
When he was sitting next to you, even that wouldn’t be enough. He would lay his head on your shoulder, or hold your hand, or wrap his arm around you. Around his family, he would play with your hair—the tiny unbraided strands of your goddess braids, or he would just hook a finger around yours.
He had separation anxiety, though you would never comment on it. You didn’t mind, one bit. You thought that part of him was adorable, like a little puppy.
Because you were his mate, it was decided that you would move to Awa’atlu with Jake and his family, leaving your family behind. You were heartbroken, having to leave your siblings and parents behind, but you said your goodbyes and left anyways.
When you arrived at the Pandora Reefs, Neteyam never let go of your hand, not once. But this time, it was to reassure you. When Au’nong and Rotxo stepped forward, he pulled you behind him, while they smirked.
At your new home, he huffed in displeasure. “They were looking at you.” He sulked, sitting next to you with his head on your collarbone, your body leaning against the wooden pillar, his pointer finger hooked to your pinkie.
You smiled reassuringly, shaking your head. “And I was looking at you, Neteyam.” You told him softly, playing with the bead on his braid. Your heart was full, your throat tightening at how adorable he was.
Another instance was when you were at the beach with Tuktirey, accompanying her and looking for seashells on the shallow waters. The two of you knelt on the sand, her laughing in joy. “Look, there’s one!” You laughed, pointing at a pink shell when you heard the water behind you splashing as if somebody was walking near you.
You turned around, seeing a stranger your age walking up to you with two of his friends. You furrowed your eyes. “Tuk, come here.” You whispered, ushering her.
She whimpered in fear as you grabbed her arm and pulled her behind you. You then stood up. “What’re you doing?” The boy asked, tilting his head. You gave him a dirty look. “Can I help you?” You asked, ignoring his question. His friend laughed. “We just want to get to know you, chill out.” He shrugged his shoulders, and you tried your hardest not to roll your eyes.
“I like your hair.” The third guy commented, running his fingers through some braids on your hair. “We should hangout sometime, I can show you some islands around here.” The first guy said, smiling. You huffed, frowning.
“Excuse me.” You mumbled, making sure to keep Tuk away from the guys as you walked past them, and away. “O-Okay! See you around!” The guy yelled after, and you shook your head in disbelief and sighed. Pathetic.
Unknown to you, Neteyam had seen it all. He had the urge to go in and just punch those guys square in the jaw, but after fighting the Au’nong and his friends yesterday, he was sure his father would skin him alive if he were to cause more trouble.
So instead, he stayed out of sight, and watched quietly as his nails dug into his palms. He was glad you quickly had left and even barely spoke to them, displaying your clear unliking to them, but still, he couldn’t help but feel jealous.
Later that day, when the sky was dark, you stood in your home, your back turned to the entrance as you were busy taking the leaves off of berries Kiri had picked. You heard Neteyam enter, turning your shoulder and glancing at him. “How was your day, Neteyam?” You asked, not having seen him all day. He stayed silent, which you ignored. If he didn’t want to talk, he didn’t have to talk. You respected that of him, because you had your moments too.
You heard him dropping his things on the floor, then walk up to you. Without saying a word, his hands slid around your waist, pressing himself against your back as he kissed your shoulder. You smiled, leaning your hair into him as you continued to pick at the berries. His butterfly kisses trailed up your shoulder, to your neck, and his kisses became longer. Your breath hitched as he started sucking softly on the skin on your neck, his thumb rubbing your stomach.
“Neteyam.” You whispered, turning your head slightly towards him, but he ignored you again. You were confused on why he was acting this way. His tongue pressed against the bruises on your neck, before he turned you around and kissed your lips. You immediately responded. “Netey- mm- What’s- Mmph!” You tried talking, but he kept cutting you off by kissing you, each kiss more aggressive than the last. “Shh.” He hushed quickly, before kissing you again.
You did as told, letting him pour his feelings out on you. Your fingers brushed his back, tracing his spine upwards, before lightly tugging on his hair. He pushed his lips against yours, trying to get as close as he could to you, his eyebrows furrowed. He felt goosebumps on his skin as your tail brushed up the inside of his leg. After leaving his final kiss on you, he hugged your waist, burying his face into the crook of your neck.
Surprised, you looked at him, before smiling softly and rubbing his back. “What happened, Neteyam?” You asked quietly, closing your eyes as you leaned your head against his. He was silent for a couple heartbeats, but then finally spoke. “I saw those guys trying to hit on you today.” He whispered, and it almost broke your heart—how cute he was. You laughed at his sulking sight, hugging him tighter. “Neteyam, you are too perfect for this world.” You told him, kissing his head.

e.9 w/ regulus pls, i'm on my knees 😭
this is technically a steamy prompt, but gosh this grew real sugary sweet really fast lmao. hope you enjoy the drabble, love<3
Prompt: E.9 "Use your words, sweetheart"
Words: 1.3k
Warnings: implied smut (mdni), not proofread, loads of cursing, talks of sex, background dorlene and rosekiller, established relationship, slight implied d/s dynamic where reader is d, regulus is a Quidditch Player™ but also easy to fluster, marlene is not a quidditch player in this (blasphemy, i know), gn!reader
Note: i could make a part 2 with actual smut, but this is what came to me rn
Perhaps your favourite part of your boyfriend is how multifaceted he is.
Because when you first met him, in all his moody brooding, repressed emotions, dry sarcasm and school-orientation, you never could have imagined how fervent Regulus Black could get about quidditch. The same Regulus who rolled his eyes painfully hard at his brother and friends's jock habits, as he referred to them as, the same Regulus who polished his Head Boy pin multiple times a day. Somehow, it was the same Regulus you saw run into a slam-hug with Barty on the field once they landed, with wild eyes and tousled hair after catching the snitch that just barely secured Slytherin’s victory against Gryffindor.
“Bloody fucking yes!” You could hear the boys’ exclamations clutter against each other in the air as they hollered their celebrations.
A wide grin was glued onto your lips as you cheered and clapped with the crowds surrounding you in the stands. Marlene’s voice was bursting your eardrums as she cheered specifically only for Dorcas while grumbling over Gryffindor’s defeat – a complicated day for the blonde.
On the field, Regulus turned from his friends to scour through the stands before his eyes found yours and somehow he smiled wider. Your heart soared every time you saw his carefully crafted mask slip to reveal true enjoyment. His smile grew cheeky as he blew you a kiss with a flourish you knew he would never let fly so publicly had it not been for the adrenaline coursing through his veins.
“Breaking from Slytherin’s passionate celebrations, Regulus Black is taking the opportunity to show his wonderful partner some love.” Pandora’s soft voice booms through the amplification spell as she wraps up her commentary for the game. You grow bashful in your cheering, especially when Marlene elbows you with her wolfish grin, but you don’t cease your clapping – and you don’t break eye contact with Regulus as he walks backwards towards the locker rooms, only tearing away when he has to.
The team are some of the last people to enter the Slytherin common room for the rager that always follows matches with Gryffindor. This time, it was put together by a few fifth years who seemed to consider them their personal heroes – you had overseen some of the decorations just to ensure there were no pictures of Evan with hearts drawn around them, lest Barty get murderous in his partying.
They were a sight as they walked in with their wet hair from showering and still that crackling atmosphere of sheer joy and perhaps a twinge of earned arrogance.
Dorcas is the one who announces their entrance. “We won, bitches!”
The room erupts into cheers as Marlene runs to lift her girl up, twirling her around as they giggle through kisses. You would have smiled at them in admiration for longer, had your own attention not been reserved for a certain set of black curls.
Regulus is at the very back of the group, just behind Evan who had Barty all but draped over his shoulders, a small smile seemingly etched onto his lips. You were torn between petrifying his face so it could never move from that beautiful expression, and hiding it from the world with an array of kisses. You had a feeling he was partial towards the latter.
“Nice of you to finally show up at your own party, love,” you say cheekily, as he greets you with a murmured amour before pulling you into his arms for a tight hug.
He smells like his soap and cologne, having cleaned himself up as attentively as he always did. Maybe someday you could convince him to sit in the sweat for a bit, reeling in the victory.
“The hero who caught the snitch.” Your voice is low and teasing, only really intended for Regulus as your arms around his neck.
Barty is never one to miss something though, head picking up from his huddle with a maniacal grin. “Hells yeah,” he yells, cutting through the lively chatter of the room. “Reggie, our hero!”
Everyone erupts into cheers, hoots and whistles – definitely not for the last time of the evening – as Regulus bashfully hides his face in your neck, still not broken away from your embrace. You giggle into his ear, clearly pleased with the teasing attention he receives, to which he pinches your side. When you yelp and swat at him, he comes out of his hiding with a smile that he finally presses to yours.
His kiss receives some more hollers, but they are nothing but murmurs to you as his soft lips mould to your own. You deepen the kiss, trying to get impossibly closer as your blood warms. You’re sure he can feel it emanate through your clothes pressed to his or your palms in his hair.
“Hi,” he whispers when you pull back, foreheads pressed against each other.
“Hi there, seeker. Ready to go celebrate your acts of valour?”
His eyes remain trained on your lips as you speak, which only makes your smile more teasing. He doesn’t answer you right away, holding you close by the small of your back as the party picks up around you.
“Or did you have something else in mind, player?” You cock an eyebrow at him.
He realises you have read him like the books you bond over, and gives you a few rapid pecks to make up for it. “You know me too well,” he laughs.
“I think I know you the perfect amount.”
“Then you know the only one I want to celebrate with right now is you.” Regulus’s eyes are a beautiful mix of dark and soft as he stare at you, adrenaline seemingly ebbing out of him as he just melts into you and his prescribed lovesickness.
“Silly boy,” you whisper against his lips before giving him a slow, open-mouthed kiss where you tug his bottom lips between your own. “You already have me.”
“You know what I mean,” he all but whines back between kisses as you move to his upper lip.
“Hm, maybe.” He recognises the glint in your eyes as you pull back to look at him. “Use your words, sweetheart.”
Almost all softness seep from his face as it takes on a hungry quality that his reserved for only when you use that tone.
“Minx,” is all he whispers before his hands slide to find yours, squeezing them as he begins to pull you through the crowd.
“Oi, Black!” Dorcas yells as she sees your figures sneak your way between people with apparent haste. “The fuck you think you’re goin’?” Just from her voice you know Dorcas has had a drink, as her accent has thickened.
Before either of you can respond, Evan drags her down by the elbow to the sofa he’s sprawled across as he drawls, “They’re going to celebrate dearest Dorc.”
A spat ensues between the two at the use of her least favourite nickname. Regulus has the decency to grow slightly pinkish at that, but his hold on you remains close and you can all but feel his jitters through his touch.
Barty looks at you two upside down from where he lays balancing on top of the sofa. “You nasty fucking pigs,” he grins. “Enjoy yourselves heartily, but get your butts down here to have fun with us too when the adrenaline wears off.”
You snort as Regulus only grows more red. You give Barty a wink as you begin leading the way, dragging your boy dumbly behind you. “We will, Junior, don’t you worry.”
“Bye, Treasure!” Barty calls behind you as you run up the stairs towards the boys dormitory. Regulus’s hand is hot in yours and your stomach tingles in anticipation – but more importantly, your heart aches with pride and love for your hero seeker.

Kinktober #1 - Handjob "Mission Accomplished"
fem!HumanReader x Neteyam or Lo'ak (you pick! 😉)
Summary: You've been asked to fill in for Norm on one of his Na'vi patient observations, except this isn't any old observation appointment... You need to collect a semen sample and the appointment doesn't go at all to professional plan...
Warnings: 🔞 Sexual content 18+, MDNI 🔞 Word count: 4.6k
Author's Note: Happy Kinktober everyone! 😁 I'm late with this prompt as it was completely unplanned. I got inspired late last night after posting Part 4 of 'The Love Shack' and this is what my brain spat out! As usual, my inability to write short drabbles means that what was meant to be a short, sweet kink-scene turned out to be 4.6k. I've not used any names in this piece, so you're free to imagine either Neteyam or Lo'ak as the male lead in this. Enjoy the spice ya'll!
Tagging some mooties who may be interested (no pressure though): @pandoraslxna @blue-slxt @adrianarose7 @vintaqestar @eyweveng @qcswrites @daeneeryss @oasiswithmyg @delacruzyari @teymars @neteluvr @sulieykte @teyamsatan
And OMG (I feel absolutely rotten for overlooking this until now) - Thank you to the incredible @cinetrix for her render of Neteyam which I've used in the story cover.
You swallowed tightly as Dr Blaise briefed you around the purpose of today’s observation and what was required of you. Your heart was galloping in your chest and you could feel yourself breaking out into a nervous sweat. It amazed you how unconcerned and unaffected she was about the whole thing.
“It’s a simple observation. We’re looking for any key physical differences in appearance, as well as any differences in physiological function.” Dr Blaise stated casually, “No swabs or bloods needed today. Just some notes, photos, and a semen sample. There are sample collection jars in the consultation bay already.”
A semen sample… Good Lord, she said that with all the nonchalance of someone asking for a saliva sample. Though you figured that’s what medical professionalism was all about, right? No awkwardness, no emotion, just plain science and fact.
When Dr Norm Spellman had said that he was writing a book about Pandoran Biology and Na’vi Physiology, you’d jumped at the opportunity to be involved. After all, Pandora was your home. It was the only home you’d ever known. As one of the only two human babies to be born on Pandora, you and Spider were the only generation of humans who’d never known the dying mother planet Earth.
Unlike Spider though who had taken to life on Pandora like a duckling to water, scaling trees, swinging from branches and pretty much adopting himself into the Omatikaya clan, you weren’t anywhere near as outgoing. You’d stuck to the medical labs and the avatar camp for majority of your life, rarely venturing out into the wilderness except to accompany the other scientists on their excursions. Perhaps the only similarity you shared with Spider was that you too were an orphan of war. Your parents had been on the frontlines of the battle between Toruk Makto and the RDA, and they’d met their maker on that fateful day.
You were just an intern currently, but the older staff and scientists were more than willing to teach you. Doing lab observations, drawing blood and other lab technician work was your job, so this morning’s appointment shouldn’t have been any different. And yet it was.
You’d never had to collect a semen sample before.
“Patient is a young unmated male, 23 years of age. Fit. Occupation is hunter-warrior. No pre-existing medical conditions and no recent injuries.” Dr Blaise rationally, handing you the clipboard and pen, “The patient has also been briefed about this appointment, so he knows what to expect and he’s aware he needs to produce a sample.”
“Right, understood.” You mumbled and the words were slightly hoarse. You cleared your throat, dislodging the sticky lump of uneasiness there.
Sensing your discomfort, Dr Blaise placed a heartening hand on your shoulder. Her eyes were kind and the crows’ feet at their corners crinkled as she smiled, “Look, the patient is friendly with the team, one of Jake Sully’s sons actually. So you needn’t worry about any hostility. You’ve done numerous observations and collected all sorts of samples. This is no different. It’s only awkward if you’re awkward. Besides, I’m sure you can understand why Dr Spellman didn’t want to conduct this particular observation himself, what with them being family friends and all.”
A giggle and snort left you at the humorous thought and you found you had to agree. Dr Blaise chuckled alongside you. It would definitely be ten times more awkward if the patient and medical professional were familiar with each other during this observation.
The fleeting moment of hilarity eased the nervous roil in your belly. Tucking your pen into the breast pocket of your lab coat, you took a deep breath and nodded, “Ok, I’ve got this. Thanks Dr Blaise.”
With two thumbs up and a wink, Dr Blaise turned and left you to depart down the corridor, her black pump heels clicking neatly across the hard floor.
Turning to the wall, you grabbed an exopack kit and hooked it to the leather belt around your hips. Tucking your hair behind your ears, you positioned the mask over your face and returned to the doorway that led into the consultation bay. The doorway was tall, much taller than you were used to. All the consultation bays were built big enough with high enough ceilings to accommodate the Na’vi and the avatars. While the main ventilation in the compound was suited to human lungs, the consultation bays were fitted with ventilation to suit their Pandoran patients. Scanning your ID card on the panel of blinking lights on your right, the door slid open with a hiss and you stepped into the bay.
The first thing that always hit you when you entered any of the consultation bays was the sterile scent of it. After a couple of years working here you’d think you’d have got used to it, but every single time the smell was like a synthetic slap to your senses. You wrinkled your nose in distaste. Everything smelled so chemical; too clean and too artificial. It was no wonder the Na’vi didn’t like being in here. If the smell was strong to your human nose, you could only imagine how much more potent it was to their heightened senses.
The second thing to hit you this morning was the sight of the magnificent creature that was standing in the corner of the bay, peering at the various medical models, instruments and books in the wall-mounted glass cabinet. He’d been facing away from you at first, but the sound of your footsteps had caught his attention and he turned to face you then.
A genial smile stretched across his face and he greeted you in a voice that was deep and warm, “Good morning, doctor.”
His use of English surprised you and while his words were accented, his pronunciation was clear. Go figure that Jake Sully would’ve taught his children to speak his mother tongue.
You gave a clumsy laugh and you were quick to correct your patient, “Oh, I’m not a doctor. I’m just an intern. I’m just filling in for Dr Spellman for this observation.”
Your patient grinned toothily at you and gave a nod of his head in acknowledgement, although his tone was teasing when he replied, “Alright Dr ‘Just-An-Intern’, where would you like me?”
You couldn’t help the giggle that bubbled up from your throat at his playful demeanour. You smiled at him. He was charming this one, handsome too. Like all Na’vi, he towered well above you in height at approximately nine and a half feet. Though you noted that he was very well-built. Courtesy of being a warrior, you supposed. Yes, he was muscular in all the places you appreciated in a male… You silently reprimanded yourself for your unprofessional thoughts.
“Just take a seat on that gurney for me.” You replied, gesturing towards the make-shift bed against the wall. Retrieving your pen, you began to scan through the notes at the top of the form on the clipboard, double-checking the patient’s details and ensuring everything on it was as it should be.
“Ah, do you want me to take my tewng (loincloth) off?”
Suddenly remembering the aim of the observation again, you felt hot blood rush to your cheeks and ears in embarrassment, “Umm, yes please.” And in a bid to stop your embarrassment running away with your courage, you launched into a rambling outline of the appointment agenda, “Today’s appointment is an observation around Na’vi male genitalia and sexual function. I’m going to need to make some notes and take some photographs of you, both in a r-relaxed and a-aroused state, and I’m going to need to collect a s-semen sample. If you feel uncomfortable at any point…”
He watched you attentively as you babbled onward, the smooth skin of your face and neck taking on a ruddy and flushed hue. He smiled to himself. You were shy and today’s agenda clearly made you uneasy. He felt a twinge of empathy for you. His father had told him that humans were private about matters of the body, especially where it came to sex and pleasure. The Na’vi held no such restraints; sexual freedom was celebrated.
He’d already removed his tewng and had perched himself on the gurney as instructed, unbothered and uncaring of his own nakedness. He was quietly enjoying your discomfort, but not in a rude or condescending manner. He actually found your unease rather endearing.
“Any questions?” Your prattling came to a finish and you took a deep inhale as if you’d squeezed every last ounce of oxygen out of your lungs rushing to finish your speech without taking another breath.
He graced you with another charming smile, “No. You may proceed.”
Willing yourself to get a grip, you walked on slightly shaky legs to the desk in the corner and plucked the glass tablet from its stand and returned to place it on the end of the gurney. You kept your eyes lowered to your clipboard, filling in the date and the time. You could see the striped cobalt of his muscular legs in your peripheral vision where he sat with his shins dangling off the gurney. For the meantime, you dared not glance any higher than his thighs…
Your eyes moved to a set of highlighted bullet points in the middle of the page that indicated questions the patient had to be asked.
You read the first question aloud, its meaning registering simultaneously in your brain as the words left your lips, “When was the last time you ejaculated?”
You fought the mortification that threatened to consume you and your mind struck up a chant of ‘stay professional, stay professional’ in your head.
“Yesterday morning.” His answer was composed.
“And was that with a partner or was it self-stimulated?” Fuck, maybe you should’ve read the questions before coming in for the observation…
“It was self-stimulated.”
“And do you have a preference for male partners, female partners, or both?”
“Female. Definitely female.”
His voice was a smooth, velvety rumble. You couldn’t put your finger on it, but something in his tone stroked over you like an invisible caress that made something clench in your lower belly. You scribbled his answers on the page in a messy scrawl that had more to do with your nerves than your actual style of handwriting.
He continued to observe you as you worked. Your knuckles were pale where your left hand gripped hold of the clipboard and you were so focused, almost concentrating too hard on what you were writing. Nose twitching quietly, he parted his lips and scented the air around. The artificial smell of the bay was unpleasant, but a sweeter and much more appealing smell was filling the vicinity now. Your scent.
The blush on your skin remained and he was sure that if he reached out to touch you that your skin would be hot to the touch where your blood had rushed to the surface. He could smell hints of your perspiration and he could also detect a musky and moist feminine undertone. You were attracted to him… His masculine pride delighted in the realisation. Despite your human form, he found you attractive too.
Finishing up your notes, you settled the clipboard down on the gurney and mentally prepared yourself for the ‘looking’ part of the observation.
Eyes still glued to the brown leather of the gurney’s mattress, you declared your next action, “Alright, just stay relaxed for me with your thighs slightly parted. I’m going to begin the physical part of the observation now.”
“Sure.”
Your gaze travelled from the beautiful stripes on his outer thighs inward to the slightly paler blue of his inner thighs and finally, up to his groin. Suddenly, you didn’t understand why you were so nervous about this. He looked fairly… normal? Apart from the general larger size of everything and the blue hue of his skin, everything was as expected. Feeling a little braver now, you grabbed the glass tablet and took a couple of photos and then set it down to return to your clipboard.
“Is everything the same?” He asked out of the blue, “Same as with human males, I mean.”
You looked to his face instinctively and found his amber eyes trained on you, “Ah yes, more or less. Penis, foreskin, testes; everything expected is there and I haven’t noted any real differences in physiology apart from the lack of hair, but that’s consistent with the lack of body hair all Na’vi have apart from on your heads and tail tufts.”
Following the words down the clipboard sheet you came to a section that was titled ‘Texture and Sensitivity’. You paused. How the fuck were you supposed to assess those? The section didn’t have any required questions or sample questions to help you, and no suggestions either, just a space for you to jot down your notes. You looked from your patient’s body and then to his face, and when he gave you a small smile, your gaze shot back down to your clipboard sheet in embarrassment. Texture and sensitivity were tactile aspects. You didn’t really understand how you could assess them without touching the patient.
Evidently you were taking too long in your deliberation, because your patient’s voice sounded again with a gentle query, “Is everything alright?”
“Yes, sorry. I’m just trying to work out how to assess the next bit.” You apologised sheepishly. You weren’t doing a very good job of appearing collected, you realised.
“What’s the next part?”
“Texture and sensitivity. So, what it feels like and which parts respond the most to touch.” You stated in as even a voice as possible. You huffed out a laugh then and shrugged, “It’s a tricky one because they’re tactile observations and I don’t know how to assess them when you can’t touch the patient.”
“Why can’t you touch the patient?” His response was clearly a surprise to you and he couldn’t suppress his grin as you goggled at him in shock, “You can touch me if it will enable you to do your job.”
You were almost about to say that you couldn’t possibly do that, but you stopped yourself. You were a med-science professional. The patient was consenting and your research required you to perform a physical examination. In a professional capacity, there was no reason you couldn’t touch the patient to achieve the intended outcome of the examination.
You remembered Dr Blaise’s words: It’s only awkward if you make it awkward. Fuck, you needed to swallow a bucket of concrete and toughen up. The sooner you completed this observation, the sooner you would be out of this uncomfortable situation.
Nodding resolutely, you agreed, “Alright, but you will guide me with your own hands. That way I can be assured that you’re only leading me where you’re comfortable to be examined.”
Your patient dipped his head in agreement, the tuft of his tail curling and uncurling charmingly on the gurney next to him. You set your clipboard down and moved to position yourself before him, standing between his knees. You lifted your eyes to his and they locked with his gentle gaze. Tentatively you offered him your hand and he took it, his large palm and long fingers engulfing it easily.
“So first up, texture?” He reminded, and you nodded.
Slowly, he brought your hand to his crotch and settled your hand over the shaft of his cock. It was very warm beneath your palm. Gently, your fingers tested the slightly springy flesh, noting how smooth and silken his skin was. At this closer proximity, you noticed that there was also spattering of bioluminescent freckles on the shaft. You made a mental note of that.
You touched the base of his cock, gingerly feeling around the length of it and you asked, “What’s the sensitivity like here?”
“I can feel it, but it’s not intense or anything. It’s more sensitive up here.” He guided your fingers nearer to the tip and you stifled a small gasp when he assisted you in pushing his foreskin back to reveal the smooth, dark purple head of his cock.
You’d never interacted with a naked man this close, human or Na’vi, and you certainly had never touched one in such an intimate place. Your body was starting to tingle in various places; in very unprofessional places. It was a surreal situation to be in and you found that you felt oddly calmer now than you were a few minutes ago.
Trailing the pads of your fingers over the smooth tip, you found it was moist and a little slippery. Your thumb tested the underside of it, “Sensation?”
A quiet hiss left him and you instinctively attempted to move your hand away, but his hold over your wrist kept it there, “That’s sensitive. That feels good.”
Your heart was still thumping and your cheeks were still warm, but it wasn’t nerves anymore that were causing your reaction. God, his skin was so soft and so warm… Your curiosity was growing now; your innate desire to explore taking hold of you.
You traced the raised rim of his cock head with your thumb and forefinger, watching as your patient emitted a rumbling groan. His hold on your wrist tightened and he began to move your hand over him. You intuitively wrapped your fingers around his cock. You felt entranced almost, caught up in the moment as you unwittingly began to enjoy the feel of him in your grasp.
The hot flesh in your hand was growing, elongating and engorging as the stimulation aroused him. You watched, amazed, as it swelled to its full capacity. The fingers and thumb of your hand could no longer meet each other. The girth of his cock was easily the same width as your forearm and by your approximations, it looked like it had also more than doubled in length from its relaxed state.
The erect shaft had lengthened out of his foreskin and it was a lovely shade of striated blue all over, except for a paler purple underside and head. In its aroused state, you discovered that while it shared structural similarities to a human male’s genitalia, it also possessed other aspects which were very different. The engorged shaft of his cock was ridged all along its length and as your hand smoothed up and down the column of it, you noted that the ridges were firm and palpable against your hand.
It was the most arousing thing you’d ever seen… Those ridges must feel so good inside for the woman…
You didn’t perceive his eyes on you, watching you as you explored his hard flesh. You were so engrossed that you didn’t even cotton on to the fact that he wasn’t even guiding your hand anymore. He could smell you, smell your arousal dampening between your thighs and the sight of your much smaller hand stroking and squeezing his cock was incredibly sexy.
You ran your enclosed hand in one full stroke from the base of cock and up to the head of it, fascinated by the ridged texture of it and the slippery, bulbous tip. However, your patient emitted a hissing intake of breath then and you jumped a little, snapping out of your thoughts.
“S-Sorry! Is that painful?” You stammered, shooting him a slightly apologetic frown.
He shook his head with a husky chuckle, “No, it’s just very sensitive. A lot more than earlier.”
“Where?” You asked, stroking him from tip to base and back up again.
“Everywhere. The ridges and the head especially.” His voice was notably breathier than before and his breaths were coming quicker, shallower and less even.
“That is fascinating.” You muttered, and your other hand joined in on your exploration. You fondled his balls lightly, observing the weightiness of them.
Your patient grunted and he parted his thighs a bit more. He leaned back to brace his weight on his palms behind him. He gave a small roll of his hips, which caused the top half of his cock to push and pull within your grasp. He moaned and the sound shot straight to the apex of your thighs. When you didn’t object, he continued the motion, thrusting lightly into your hands, both of which were now grasping his length one on top of the other.
Clear and viscous pre-ejaculate began to ooze from his tip, increasing in quantity with each roll of his hips. It was so copious that it was beginning to pool on the backs of your palms and drip down towards your wrist. Lord help you… there was nothing professional anymore about what you were doing… Not that your patient appeared to have any objections…
Still completely spellbound by the situation, your curiosity pushed a murmured query past your lips, “Is there always so much pre-ejaculate?”
“Depends. Generally the more aroused a man is, the more he produces.” He replied and when your bashful gaze lifted to meet his, he smirked wickedly.
You were such a pretty little thing to him, your smaller hands trying their best to keep hold of his slick cock. He knew that this was beyond the normal boundaries of the appointment. He knew that while you would’ve been required to touch him to examine him, stroking him off was probably not anywhere on the agenda. He suspected he was supposed to produce the sample on his own, but looking at you now, so enraptured by his body… How could he have resisted? And besides, he knew you were enjoying this as much as he was, your scent told him so.
You tightened your hold on his cock experimentally, squeezing harder. Each time the swollen head of his cock pushed out of your hands to greet you, you swiped your thumb over the oozing slit on its tip. He was panting heavily now, his impressive abdominals bunching and flexing as he continued to thrust his thick cock through your hold. The bioluminescent freckles that dotted his shaft were glimmering brightly and you never thought you’d ever use the word ‘beautiful’ to describe genitalia, but his cock was gorgeous.
All of him was gorgeous, truth be told…
You were attracted to Na’vi men. Ever since you were old enough to notice the opposite sex, you’d been drawn to male Na’vi. After all, you’d grown up on this moon, inhabited by and surrounded by tall, beautiful Na’vi. The humans who surrounded you at the compound and the camp were your family, and they were all much older. There were no men of your own species to look at or be attracted to. Spider was the only one of your generation and he was like your annoying, gross brother. Your attraction to Na’vi men had been an inevitable result really.
So now as you stood in the consultation bay, between the knees of this striking and aroused Na’vi male while he pumped his cock in and out of your hands, you’d never felt more validated and aroused in your life.
Your patient’s fingers were digging into the squeaky brown leather of the gurney now, straining slightly as his hips continued their onslaught. Your hands and wrists were completely drenched, soaking in his thick pre-cum. The slippery mess caused his cock to squelch obscenely as it slipped through your hold. The whole situation was so sensually explicit and you were never more thankful in your life than you were now that there were no CCTV cameras installed in the consultation bays.
You’d be expelled from your chosen profession for patient abuse… Though by the half-lidded, slack-jawed expression of pleasure on his face, he didn’t look much like he was being unwillingly abused…
A string of Na’vi curses left him then, followed by several panted moans. He abruptly pushed off his palms to sit upright and he stuttered, “W-Where is the container?”
A little stunned by his sudden and urgent tone, you stumbled in your own response, “The w-what? Oh, the sample jar?”
Panting heavily through parted lips, he nodded at you and you pointed to the desk on his left. You saw his gaze follow your eyeline and when he caught sight of the plastic collection jars that sat patiently waiting, he let out a hearty guffaw.
He reached for one and deftly flicked the already loosened lid from its mouth, still chuckling away between his huffing breaths, “It’s so small. You ready, doc?”
“For what?” You asked, realising only as the words left you what a dumb response it was as he handed the sample jar to you.
Your patient smiled at you and it was a salacious leer, all narrowed eyes and pointed canines showing, “You’re about to get your sample.”
One of his hands returned to guide yours, wrapping around your one remaining hand where it encircled his stiff cock. The pace of this rocking thrusts increased and he began to exhale with throaty moans that you swore made your own feminine core throb with desire. Gingerly, you held the collection jar up to him, being extra careful not to drop it.
With two more lurching breaths, his abdominal muscles contracted and his back bowed inward, his entire torso going rigid. You felt his cock harden impossibly before it pulsed and the breath he was holding left him in a coarse growl while his face twisted into an almost pained expression. His cock pulsed again and the first spurt of ejaculate missed the sample jar entirely, landing with a warm splat in the middle of your chest where the frills of your blue blouse peeked out from behind your lab coat. Quickly, his free hand grabbed hold of yours to position the jar better, while his other hand attempted to position his cock so he could shoot straight into it.
He was absolutely breathtaking in the midst of his orgasm. The luminous freckles on his face were twinkling and the striped cobalt skin of his neck and chest was glossy with a sheen of sweat. His cock continued to throb and pulse, emitting rope after rope of thick cum that splattered untidily over the mouth and sides of the sample jar.
You could see why he’d laughed at the size of it. There was no way the small jar could have held the full volume of what he was producing.
Coming down now off the high of his climax, your patient slouched against the wall behind the gurney, breathing hard. He caught your eye and he grinned indolently at you.
The adrenalin and heightened arousal in the atmosphere was fading rapidly now, and cold, hard reality was slowly returning to you. You looked at the pearlescent contents of the sample jar, which was still decently full despite majority of the sample not making it in there. You smiled to yourself.
Mission accomplished and what an exciting mission it was…
Carefully setting the jar down on the flat worktop of the metal sink next to you, you replaced the lid on it with sticky fingers and made a note to thoroughly wipe the jar down later before handing it to the lab techs.
Returning your attention to your patient, you smiled at him, suddenly shy again, “Thank you for your co-operation today. I’ll leave you to clean and freshen up. You can see yourself out after.”
His answering laugh was husky and he dipped his head at you, “I should be thanking you for your co-operation I think, doc.”
“Not a doc, remember?” You grinned at him and you were about to turn on heel to depart into the adjacent washroom when you heard him call out to you again.
“Hey Not-A-Doc, if you ever need another sample, I’m happy to provide another one, whether for med-science research or your own personal research.”
A girlish giggle left you and you felt your face flame again. You shook your head, making your way into the washroom to clean yourself up. He was a naughty one that one…

Are there any sonic au’s you would recommend? I am trying to find more to get into so would love to know if you have any favourites out there :D
Hello! Oh there are so many! :D I definitely have some favorites and some which aren't favs but are pretty great.
Putting these under the cut because there are so many! And there's definitely more cool AUs that I haven't seen or haven't saved.
Anyways, please enjoy my personal selection:
Seven Years Too Soon by NightFuchia. Basically what if a much younger Sonic accidentally set Shadow free from Prison Island. It has awesome characterization and happens to be one of my favorite stories. The rest of Team Sonic is also present
Brotherhood's Twist by @/drawloverlala even though I don't think it counts entirely as Au but it still sort of does. Unbreakable Bond ageswitch due to Zeti's meddling.
Passion's @sonic-tangled-au . I love it! So very much. The lore and backstories are so good.
Noonui's World Restored in Imbalanced Chaos au. Extremely engaging and good. Has a bunch of world building and fun concepts and lore.
Sonic's Super Totally Awesome Mixtape, though it seems to be discontinued, I'm not sure. It's pretty good so far! Takes place in the movie verse.
@brainworms-all-night-long is working on a Dreamtale Au which I'm hyped for. The tag in use is 'dreamtale and sonic tomfoolery'.
@/the-starlight-project comic is pretty good too. Mystery! And emotions. So many emotions ough.
And there's @the-emerald-isle-au by @0vergrowngraveyard . Very intriguing. 👀
Please do check out the Pandora Au by @/starrjoy. It's great!
The Fair Folk by Irritable_Fabulamancer, this fic is one of my favorites! Team Sonic as Fae my beloved! I love fae AUs.
On that note, if you're alright wanting to read a Fae!AU which is pretty much a sonadow fic, there is also I don't believe in fairy tales [but I believe in you and me]. Fantasy and Fae! Satbk inspired, another one that had me hooked.
My Arms Are Blue by thekyuubivixen and its unofficial, fan-continuation (My Arms Are Blue! Final Four Edition) by PlaystationPassenger. The story doesn't completely count as an AU but I'm recommending them anyway cuz they're really really good and has that watching your own show from different dimension trope. It's also hilarious and fun.
Burning Arrow, Wildfire Heart by Taranea is SatSR novelisation AU with Sonic's other friends present too, it's pretty fun. Not very accurate regarding the desert but it's a good read and I come back to reread it often. Must read in my opinion. Just don't dare use it as guide for desert travel or you'll be shriveled up in the sand somewhere
This fic. Read it, I will not elaborate this one. Just trust me :]
And don't miss out on @shadofiredragon's Legends Never Die fic. It's a future fic! And an awesome one. I won't spoil much but it is so good. She also has lots of fun AUs in the works.
Down the Foxhole series by MoonlitNightin. Sonic Prime AU series which is great! Tails' pov. The Shatterverses have their own Sonics. Engaging and great.
Feel free to check out @/Son1c's 10verse and other AUs. Those are some pretty great ones. Love the different lore and variants given to the Shatterverses in 10verse.
Spirit of the Wind by TrenchCoatGecko. Satbk inspired fantasy au. Sonamy, has focus on magic and lore and other characters as well.
If you'd like some Forces angst with Unbreakable Bond focus, please do read Illusionary are your arms around me by @nixoon-again. The feels will kill you /pos
Chaos Barren by but_why_not. I forgot to add this earlier (this is an edited addition). Takes place in the Blue Devils AU, great story!
Baby Tails shenanigans by @myymi . Tails got turned into itty bitty infant kit. (And also check @0vergrowngraveyard 'baby tails' tag for more little gremlin scenarios)
Myla is also working on @tails-and-the-ink-machine au
Feral au by Oneshot_bravo. Little short stories or drabbles taking place in Unleashed but the werehog is feral yet keeps his memories. Very lighthearted and fun and cute
Three or more foxes form a skulk by @/chiropter36 . Post Prime au fic, loved it! Go read.
Also, @donelywell 'roadtrip! sonic au' and 'Casino Nights Au'
Haven't yet started reading The Fox's Burrow by @/space-gutz but I'm planning to. Recommending it either way cuz I feel like it's gonna be good. Unbreakable Bond but ageswaped au.
@/sonicchaoscontrol comic. Another in-progress au which is also quite intriguing. Sonic jumps through a portal and exits in future where the planet is a mess. The mystery of what and how it all happened and what's going on slowly unfolds.
The Buzzsaw Dillemma by redpenship. I haven't personally read it myself but I've heard many good things about it, especially it's world building.
Incomplete and won't be updated anymore but if you haven't read them yet, DO NOT miss out on Ghosts of the Future and The Murder of Me fancomics by Evan Stanley (spiritsonic) and Gigi Deutrix (gigi-D) respectively. They're a must read. Both are available on DeviantArt.
The Heart of a Monster comic, @/the-heart-of-a-monster. It's in progress and updates regularly. Unleashed retelling, really really good with some extra lore and everyone involved.
Sometimes the Picket Fence isn’t Perfect and Sharp Edges (Sonic Prime AU) series by @/skimmingthesurfaces. I'm holding off the first one to read later, like that one book you've been saving so I'm not sure if it completely counts as an AU, still putting it in recs, and the second one is intriguing so far. I have heard a lot of good thing about the Picket Fence series.
Dark Boom by Smash50. The entirety of Team Dark in the Sonic Boom universe. Alongside it, there's also Boomtober by the same author.
It Always Snows by the 24th by Selendred had me hooked even though it's a oneshot. Great au and would love to see it explored more.
No One said I Wish by SylWritesStuff. One of my fav stories from the Sonic Platonic Fairytale Week event. It's really funny.
Sonic Phantom Forces (SPF) au comic. Sonic Forces au, blue boy gets taken away but not in the way you think, pretty cool story so far. It's in-progress and available on both Tumblr and DeviantArt. @/spfau
If Black Doom tried to be a better father by Tirainy. Don't take this one seriously. It's pure comedy and I love every second of it. Shadow is having a time for sure XD.
Silent Talkers by @brainworms-all-night-long. Takes place in the Prime Bros verse, feels intensified, all the good ones. A must read, trust me.
And speaking of the Prime Bros AU (in which all Shatterverse foxes also got adopted by Sonic and are now brothers), feel free to scroll through the 'prime bros' tag here. So many awesome posts for this particular au by everyone!
There's so many more, cool ones, epic ones. I haven't saved all and I'm probably forgetting some great ones too so I'm leaving this open for others to add. If y'all have more cool AUs, plz add to these (I wanna check em out too)
....
And now a few from the Fanfiction.net site because it doesn't have much audience compared to AO3 and there are some actual gems hidden there;
Premonition by thekiyuubivixen (not entirely an au but it feels like one due to the unique ability Sonic gains)
The Sonic Project by SconnieSA. Rated M but it's a pretty awesome AU and the rating is due to more serious themes and uncensored language in some parts. Highly recommending this one
Survivor's Resolve by DC111. Not entirely an AU but I must rec this fic it's so good and doea havs some AU vibes.
Sonic the Hedgehog: Attorney of Law by thedraconicwerewolf. Ace Attorney type AU with Sonic and Tails as main characters. Not too adventurous but very very fun and interesting and still managed to keep Sonic in character. Though it has a sequel started, I only rec the main story, not the sequal as it seems to be abandoned and isn't needed to be read like them cliffhanger stories.
beLIEve by Meow21. I have only read snippets from this, waiting for this story to continue but it seems to be discontinued. Felt like an epic story too and deserves to be recommended.
Sonic and the Golden Journey. Sonic gets thrown in another storybook, this time it's a children's classic fairytale. Short but very comedic and fun. Go read it.
Tales of a Samurai. I am begging you to read this one, please it's so good. Also by Taranea.
Wonderful and it's sequal Sanctuary by Inflamore for some Unbreakable Bond angst. (Kindly ignore the obliviousness of earlier ff.net for not knowing the meaning of certain symbols, there's nothing of the sort in story, trust me.)
Regrets by MazzyBooks. A high school au of sorts. Sonic centric with some heavy angst. I'm not kidding about the angst part, trust me. It had me hooked from the first chapter though and I believe it deserves a rec.
You need the cracks (to let the light shine through) by king.needlemouse. Istg this is the most underrated thing I've ever come across, it's one of my absolute favorite fics which I can never forget. Do read it.
Within this Nightmare by sonicfan1990. Sonic get transported to an alternate universe which has gone post apocalyptic and his counterpart in that universe has been dead. Pretty great story, lots of angst and everything.
And that's all I could remember and have saved for now. I'm leaving this open to more AU recs (yes even self plugs are welcome) so if you know any I missed, plz feel free to add. I hope you enjoy all these great AUs!
Thanks for the ask!

Pandora Hearts Month 2024: Daily Prompt Vote!
Art for phmonth23 by @aprilizzie
Here is the link to the daily prompt vote on for pandora hearts month this year!! Please vote for 7 in each category!
If you don’t plan on participating in all the weeks, and only want to vote on one or two, that’s fine! Also, feel free to still vote, even if you don’t plan on participating at all! The more people voting the more helpful it’ll be!
If you don't know, Pandora Hearts Month is an event that celebrates Pandora Hearts. The first three weeks celebrate the three main trios (Golden Trio, Rainsworth Trio, and Tragedy Trio) and the fourth is a bonus week that celebrates any ships/friendships/ot3s fans chose and love. You can create edits, fanart, drabbles, fanfictions, amvs and mms!
We will be having a Vanitas no Carte Week this year! Last year I said we'd have a VnCMonth but I never got around to creating it. I want to make sure to include a week for it this year, in case that happens again!!
The event will likely occur during October and November!
I'll give you guys somewhere around a week to vote on these!
In case you're curious, the multi-word prompts all came from my writing group. We have a prompt every week, and are up to 215 total at the moment! I thought you guys might enjoy using them too, so I used a number wheel to randomly select some! (Yes, Ravens and Writing Desks was one, and yes, I am so surprised and happy that my randomizer wheel picked it for Golden Trio Week! Now to see if anyone else likes it...). If you like original writing, check out the discord here! Or (shameless plug) @AMothintheArchive on Twitch and Discord! (The tumblr isn't updated yet XD)

“Daddy…” the half mewl, half-whine you let out wasn’t lost on Jake, who, whilst couldn’t quite see your face, immediately perked at the name that will never cease to send blood shooting straight to his cock. He didn’t know how there was any blood left in his body, his erection so hard it was painful, twitching and throbbing, begging for your tight little cunt to wrap around him, to milk him 'til the last drop, 'til his seed was forever imprinted on your walls. But now wasn’t the time - patience is a virtue, one Jake has had to learn in time, in his 43 years on Earth and maybe even more so here, on Pandora. You weren’t ready. You were so small - too small -, a tiny, ineffectual human who somehow managed to pull him away from the life he’s built, with your beauty and your brains, with your inquisitive mind and your warm, inviting heart. You needed an orgasm, or three, to get your pretty pussy ready for him, for him to breed you like he envisioned and give into his worst, most delirious fantasies.
So here you were, after your third orgasm, still pouncing vigorously on his leg, that was glistening even in the dim light peering through the curtains, the sound of your moans, mingled perfectly with the slapping of skin on skin, enough to drive him into a frenzy.
“What’s wrong, doll? Tell daddy what’s on your mind.”
The hands rested forcefully on either one of your hips, pressing your swollen folds to his lustrous, muscular, tensed thigh released their deathly grip on you, settling instead for a comforting caress of your abdomen, drawing circles into the plush of your skin.
“You’re being mean.”
Your sniffles spurred him on, cock dripping in pre-cum and spilling down his balls, and he found himself reaching for your armpits, twirling you around like one of those Barbies that you had hanging on your bookshelf, a keepsake of a life you’ll never have. You winced softly as you were placed back down on his lower abdomen, finding steadiness on his abs, marvelling once more, as you always found yourself doing, at his body that felt carved by Eywa herself, at his bulging muscles, at the way he was able to make your body scream and writhe in the fine line between pleasure and pain until you were a weeping mess, much like right now.
His thumbs were gentle as they wiped the tears from your face, but there was a smugness to him, a mischievous glint haunting his beautiful irises.
“Went a little too far now, did I, kid? D’you need to get fucked dumb on daddy’s cock now?”
You moaned in between pitiful nods, cunt desperate to be filled to the brim with him, the emptiness too overwhelming to be denied anymore. As he raised you once more, your heart fluttered, excitement coursing through your veins as he aligned his cock to your needy entrance. The tip was all you needed to feel stretched beyond belief already, and your head fell backwards, eyes shut in the desire that pushed to the side the pain when the reward was all you’ve ever wanted.
“That’s right - fu-uck! There you go, princess. Let daddy make it up to you, huh?"
You could think about the consequences of your actions tomorrow, but right now, all you can think about is him, and the next 3 orgasms he’d coax out of you before you’d inevitably pass out of exhaustion, cock drunk and satisfied, as always.

I decided to write a 100-word Subject Zero Kaidan drabble over in the MEFFW discord and it has GROWN. This is pre-Through A Mirror Darkly. Short and sweet! (Art is by LeFlayArt).
“Do you trust me?”
Kaidan's voice floated from the shadowy corner of his usual haunt beneath engineering. Pandora whirled around to face him and sensed, more than saw, his movement as he stepped through the darkness.
She saw the faint blue sparks of biotics flickering in his gaze, and her eyes dropped to his tattoos as the dim light and shadow played over his skin. A vivid image of being stalked by a striped tiger popped into her head; a predator who would devour her if given the chance.
“I trust you,” Pandora breathed, waiting for the tiger to pouce.
He laughed softly and stepped closer, his biotic aura scraping against hers like nails on a chalkboard. She shuddered, unable to suppress her reaction to the wrongness of his power. It felt like an old-fashioned television tuned to the wrong station. Like static.
"Still trust me? Kaidan stepped even closer, right into her personal space.
Pandora's breath caught in her throat. He was so close that she could feel the heat from his skin against hers. She could smell his scent; cigarettes, whiskey, and ozone. Her heart pounded, her pulse thundering in her ears as held her gaze for a long moment.
"You're all alone down here, Shepard." His eyes dropped to her lips, and he smirked. "Are you that confident you could take me in a fight if I decided to hurt you?"
"No," Pandora admitted, her voice surprisingly firm and confident. She met his eyes and forced a smirk, pleased to see him look unsettled by her reaction. "I couldn't take you in a fight, but I'm confident that you won't hurt me."
He scoffed, eyes flashing as though in answer to her challenge. He closed the distance between them, his face an inch from hers. "You think I can't hurt you, Shepard?"
He wanted her to give in, to step back and show fear. Pandora refused. She straightened and leaned in, forcing Kaidan to shift his weight back a tiny bit to avoid touching her. "You could, but you won't." She smiled. "Because you want something else from me, don't you?"
His eyes widened almost imperceptibly, and his aura pulsed against hers, a buzz of reaction he couldn't hide. Immediately, Kaidan stepped back scowling. His fists were clenched at his sides, and he turned his back on her.
"I think you should leave before you find out what I really want to do to you," he bit out, his voice rough and harsh as he moved back into his darkness.
Pandora swallowed and stepped back into the light off the stairwell, turning her back on him with difficulty. She started up the stairs, and glanced back over her shoulder but couldn't see Kaidan in the gloom. He watched though. She could feel his gaze burning against her as she retreated.
The tiger hadn't pounced tonight, but his eyes were so hungry that she knew next time he wouldn't let her get away from him.
And Pandora wasn't entirely sure she wanted him to let her.

— 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘸𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦
the lowdown — the one where you and lo'ak are words apart, but not a thing can come between you.
the who — lo'ak x fem human!reader
the word count — 5.2k (could i even still call this a drabble i–)
the tags & warnings — perhaps some language, slight idiots-to-lovers (the signs are there and lo'ak is a dummy), reader is really sweet and just loves life hehe, arguably too much tension lmaooo
the notes — based off of this request! read more notes at the end!
masterlist
Something in the forest smells…off.
Against better judgment, Lo’ak tails it, ears twitching as he creeps through overgrown leaves and rustling foliage. His hand is on the hilt of his knife, eyes keen as he searches high and low for any shift or change in the terse atmosphere.
He’d wandered off, a little too far from where his father warned him the boundary lied, but there was a scent that clung to the trees, that slunk around his willowy figure and it belonged to no creature in the forests of Pandora.
It’s quiet, almost eerily so, the only sounds in the dense habitat is the pad of his feet against the grass and the chirping and croaking of the animals hidden among the trunks of trees and stems of flowers.
It’s like they’re watching, waiting, and Lo’ak’s heart begins to thud nervously in his chest as the scent strengthens like a haze.
I could turn back now, he reasons with himself. Because whatever lies ahead could be his very demise. It’d be a horrid way to go, alone and in the thickening brush.
But then he hears it. A voice so delicate and lilting, and like a sailor hooked by a siren’s call, he follows it, deeper and deeper. The trees begin to twine closer to each other, roots sprawling and the pathway overgrown.
Pandora is beginning to glow, the only indication that eclipse is drawing near now that the canopy of leaves overhead knit so close together, the sun can’t cut through to the ground.
It’s singing, he realizes. The voice is, but he can’t make out the words, a slurry of syllables and smooth melody that makes his eyebrows dip.
As he draws nearer, the voice becomes clearer and he’s stricken when the words he makes out aren’t in Na’vi. Like a predator hunting prey, Lo’ak crouches and moves the brush to the side to peer into the clearing, breath catching in his throat when he finds you, a peculiar little thing who sings as you hunch over something in your lap.
You’re angled away from him, but the sleeveless shirt you’re wearing shows earthy skin, so far removed from the blue Lo’ak’s been accustomed to seeing. The curls of your hair are unruly, piled high as neatly as you can to keep it out of your face.
His eyes are wide, finding a human so far from the camp established near his home. There’s something about how relaxed you are, your grace as you fiddle and hum like there aren’t dozens of predators on the prowl who could pounce at any moment, Lo’ak included. You can’t be with the enemy, it’s impossible, you’re too unaware and too soft.
And he can’t peel his eyes away, fingers wrapped around the handle of his dagger loosening as he watches you with bated breath.
After another moment of fiddling, you cheer quietly, triumphantly, as you hold up what you’d been tinkering with.
Lo’ak’s only seen one once before, one of those little film cameras that develop instantly. You point it towards a patch of grass and a split second of flash goes off before the mechanical whirring of the film feeding from the camera echos through the clearing.
It’s only when he moves forward for a better look that his rustling catches your attention. Your head snaps up, towards his direction and you’re brushing the strands of stubborn hair behind your ears as your eyes, big and round, survey the area.
“Hello?”
Lo’ak’s gaze flits over every curve of your face, eyes dipping to take in the swell of your cheeks, the expanse of your neck and the shoddy beadwork fastened around your throat.
He sizes you up as you stand to your feet, ratty gingham of your yellowed skirt swishing around your ankles.
“Hello?” you try again, hand coming up to a holster slung across your chest.
You unsheathe a knife so tiny, Lo’ak can’t help but snort out a laugh and your steps stutter when you make out the familiar blue whorls behind the flora.
Lo’ak’s severely underestimated his hiding spot, spine going rigid when he notices the way your eyes grow as big as saucers. He’s been found out and your jaw nearly unhinges.
“Whoa,” you whisper, sheathing the knife as you take a tentative step towards Lo’ak’s post.
He’s sure you can hear the way his heart thuds against the cage of his chest, know that he’s caught like a hideous game of cat and mouse.
Your movements are slow, calculated, as if anything sudden will spook Lo’ak away. But he’s rooted to his spot, eyes unblinking as he watches you close in on him. He waits, almost with anticipation as your fingers close around the leaf, a hairsbreadth from his nose, and move it out of the way to get a good look at his face.
For what seems like melding moments, you both are still, eyes searching and bodies frozen.
“Hi,” you squeak, throat bobbing.
Lo’ak is huge, shoulders broad and legs long as he squats before you. His lean muscles flex as he shifts in his spot, eyebrows furrowing a fraction as he takes you in before him.
You’ve got a flower stem tucked behind your other ear and he notes that your cheeks are red. But what’s more peculiar is the fact that you have no oxygen mask, seemingly breathing the dense air with ease.
“Hi,” he warbles, voice catching as you take another step forward.
One of your hands is outstretched, like you’re reaching to touch him, but like a flash of lightning in the sky, his fist closes around your wrist to stop you, jostling you with narrowed eyes. The other hand has pulled his dagger from his hip and the tip, razor sharp, is aimed towards your trachea.
“Sorry,” you breathe, swallowing down the knot in your throat. “I’ve never…”
You’re breathless, absolutely in awe at the boy who crouches before you.
You’d spent the latter half of your existence on Pandora watching the Na’vi from afar, opting instead to center your time and attention to the sprawling habitat of the forest. For years you documented the change in weather, the flora, the fauna. More seldom, you’d jot down the brief observations of the Na’vi you encountered, three instances you can count on your fingers.
You’d been enraptured with the moon, your home away from home. But as the memories of the dingy planet, decaying and falling to the greed of humans, continue to dull, all you seem to recall is the lush jungle.
“Who are you?” Lo’ak’s tone is accusatory. “What are you doing here?”
You’re stunned, his voice seemingly rumbling from deep within his chest. You wonder if his English is from a language school, but others from the small commune said that the last institution closed decades ago after an attack.
“________,” you introduce quietly, shakily, as the weapon pointed towards your throat doesn’t relent. “My name is ________.”
“Are you with the RDA?”
He has to be sure, watches every inch of your face for a tell.
Instead you look horrified at the idea.
“God no,” you shudder. “I would never.”
He lowers his knife, but doesn’t lose his edge.
“You can breathe without a mask,” he observes. “How?”
You’re still tense, frozen as you watch Lo’ak rise to his feet to tower over you. You barely reach his diaphragm and a ripple of fear slinks down your spine knowing that Lo’ak could crush you with no hesitation.
“Lab rat,” you admit, almost shamefully.
Before Lo’ak even knows what you’re doing, you’re lifting up the hem of your shirt to reveal a raised scar that travels across your abdomen, from bottom rib to bottom rib. He doesn’t know what he’s supposed to be looking at, just stares down at you as your pointer finger brushes over the fused flesh.
“The atmosphere in Pandora has enough oxygen for the average human to survive, but that survival factor is squashed by the amount of carbon dioxide in the air,” you say simply, like you’re reciting a fact. “Na’vi have an extra organ that acts as a filter to—”
You stop talking when Lo’ak blinks at you and you feel sheepish over your word vomit.
“Well…” you divert.
“Well what?”
“What about you?” you ask, scratching the back of your head.
“What about me?” Lo’ak asks uncomfortably, eyes flitting as he takes in the way you seem to light up.
You are so starkly out of place, but something in the way the forest melts around you makes him feel like this is where you belong.
“What is your name?” you ask, tilting your head.
He hesitates for a moment, but you look hopeful, excited.
He takes a step back, still wary despite dwarfing you.
“Lo’ak,” he answers skeptically.
You test the name on your lips, beaming up at him when he nods. When you advance upon him again, he doesn’t retreat, just reluctantly lets you circle his towering figure with wide eyes.
“You’re the first Na’vi I’ve seen up close,” you admit softly.
There’s adoration in your voice that makes Lo’ak shiver.
“You’re in the middle of nowhere,” he observes. “We don’t venture out this far.”
“Except for you,” you amend with a hum.
He’s used to being the exception, the sore thumb. His father always reminds him as such whenever he steps out of line, but coming from you, something in the way you acknowledge makes him feel like you can see right through him.
“Yeah, I guess,” he agrees.
Your hand reaches out to him, but you pause, finding his gaze unrelenting. He watches your every move.
“Can I touch you?” you ask gently.
“I mean…sure? I guess?” he forces out, throat suddenly hoarse.
Your palm presses into the smooth expanse of his abdomen and his stomach caves with a deep breath at the feeling of your fingertips brushing against his skin.
You grab his hands, turning them so that they’re palms up, and if possible, your eyes are comically larger than life when you count his five fingers.
“You have–”
He snatches his hand away from you, expression souring as he tucks them behind his back.
“I get it,” he gruffs. “It’s weird—”
You hold your hand out to him, so much smaller in comparison to his and offer him a weak smile.
“No,” you assure him softly. “It’s okay.”
He’s opening his mouth to say something, but the comm crackles to life in his ear and his father’s voice is grainy.
“Lo’ak, do you copy?”
He takes in a deep breath, pressing the button to speak into the air.
“Yes.”
“It’s getting dark,” is his father’s way of apologizing. “Be home soon.”
“Yes, sir.”
Your eyes are still pinned to him as he straightens, taking another step back from you the survey the scene before him.
“Where are you…” your voice trails off as you watch him retreat.
“You can’t tell anyone about this,” he warns you.
“But—”
“I’ll kill you.”
You don’t even flinch, climbing over the same branches and ducking over the same vines he does so with ease as he makes for the same path he’d taken there.
“Wait, Lo’ak!” you call out as he picks up the pace, unable to keep up with his hulking strides. “Will I see you again?”
He throws you a look over his shoulder, like you shouldn’t be so noisy, and you shrink, watching his form diminish in the glowing forest.
You count almost nine eclipses without Lo’ak, something heavy like river stones anchored to the pit of your stomach. You hadn’t been able to sleep much since your encounter with him, so fascinated with the glow of his eyes, the stripes of his skin, his extra finger.
He was all you could sketch in your journal, all you could write about, think about. After years and years of quiet, distant observation, of hearsay from the villagers, you’d finally seen a Na’vi, up close and personal, and you were aching to see him again.
You don’t know if Eywa had heard you, if she pitied your poor soul, but on the tenth morning, you sit in the same clearing when you hear rustling in the brush. It comes from the same little patch it had last time you were here alone, and when your gaze flits to the swaying foliage, you yelp when you find that Lo’ak hadn’t even tried to hide this time.
The smile that spreads across your face is sunny, blinding, as you climb to your feet and close the distance between the two of you.
“You’re back,” you observe happily, peering at him from head to toe, then you giggle. “I can’t believe you’re back.”
You’re looking at him like you’re looking for anything out of place since you’d last seen him and it makes him incredibly warm under such a brilliant gaze. When the pads of your fingers glide from his wrist to forearm, like you can’t believe he’s really standing right in front of you again, his tail involuntarily swishes.
“I thought you said Na’vi don’t really come out this far,” you tell him, taking a step away from him.
He finally breathes the air he’d been holding in his lungs.
“We don’t,” he agrees. “Except for me.”
Your grin widens, if possible, at the subtle implication that maybe he’d been thinking about meeting you as much as you thought about meeting him.
“Well…” you trail off, turning on your heel so that he doesn’t see the hope in your expression. “Is there a reason why you returned? Last time we saw each other you told me you’d kill me if I said anything.”
“Have you?” he retorts, unmoving from his spot.
“Never,” you say quietly. “Wanna keep you to myself.”
The words stun Lo’ak, make something twist in his stomach as you turn back around to face him.
“Where’s your family?” he pries, the courage the ask you all the questions that had culminated over the past week finally teeming at the brim.
“Don’t have much left,” you answer honestly, openly. “A lot of them didn’t survive the journey here. I only have my sister and my mother.”
Something akin to sympathy squeezes in his chest as he watches the way you fidget.
“And your village,” he presses. “Who all is there?”
“My own and four other families,” you reveal. “It’s not much, but we don’t really need a lot when we have such a vast forest to survive off of.”
He doesn’t know what to do with the information, still in awe that humans so far removed from the RDA and the scientists he’d grown up knowing take up residence in the very jungle he thought he knew like the back of his hand.
“Can they breathe like you?” he asks bluntly.
You blow out a small laugh, seemingly finding the interrogation amusing rather than intimidating if the way that you walk away from Lo’ak is anything to go by.
“No,” you tell him, returning to your station in the middle of the clearing.
You’ve got a blanket spread neatly on the grass, stacks of books and a rucksack pinning each corner down to keep the fabric semi-taut. You’d been reading through a book about the herbs on Pandora, the page still flipped to a beautiful bundle of petals and stems that resemble Earth’s baby’s breath.
You don’t realize that Lo’ak has followed you, standing half a meter away from your setting to observe your belongings, so tiny in comparison to the things back at camp. He pauses, weary like he’s crossing a threshold, but you lean forward, fingers grabbing his own to yank him gently.
He’s toppling onto the woven blanket, shifting comfortably like a baby touching grass for the first time when he feels the odd texture against his skin.
“I didn’t think I’d see you again,” you admit to him, leaning back on your haunches as you shamelessly stare at him with that soft smile on your face.
“I was debating,” he whispers under his breath, eyes still wandering.
“You didn’t hurt me,” you remark simply, hands folded in your lap. “The first time around.”
“I could say the same for you,” he responds, gaze finally settling on your own.
You breathe another laugh, taking his hand in yours to compare the difference.
“Don’t think I could’ve even I tried,” you breathe, and something eases in Lo’ak at your acknowledgment that he has the upper hand.
But he doesn’t think he could hurt you. He wouldn’t. Not when you’re so soft and curious, and especially not when you insinuate that you’ve been waiting for him patiently.
“What do you do here, ________?” he asks you, genuine interest as he folds one long leg under the other to settled before you.
You shrug.
“Research, read, live,” you answer. “We left Earth with no real agenda. Just wanted to live a better life.”
Lo’ak skims your features.
“You like to swim?” he asks you, and you perk up.
“Yeah,” you nod. “Love it.”
“Good,” he says. “I know a place.”
The two of you become like polar opposites of a magnetic field, so drawn to the other, not a single thing could drive a wedge between the two of you.
Lo’ak can’t help it, not when you talk a million miles a minute about your love for life, for Pandora. Not when you first break the barrier and sit in his lap with a book, reading him your favorite children’s stories or blurbs that accompany the research materials you’d crafted from years of exploring the moon.
And he can’t just chalk it up to being able to see his home from your perspective, but being able to see the wonder that oozes from you when you see it from his. How in awe you are when he carries you on his back to climb the looming trees, seeing above the canopy of leaves for the first time since you touched down on the lush terrain. Or when you run your fingers over the spines of fish during your swims in the nearby streams, when you coo at the cubs of creatures that would otherwise devour you whole.
It doesn’t help that you take your life by the reigns, seemingly invincible after you divulge the entire story behind your scar. To know that they’d experimented on you, grown artificial organs, used you as a trial and then left you for dead after a seemingly failed test run. You live your life to the fullest, find no fear, but still tread with compassion.
You beguile Lo’ak, have him wrapped around your finger as the two of you teeter over a very fine line.
And your village sees it. No one has to utter a word to know that something, someone, has been occupying your attention these last few weeks. Humans are few and far in between, so they turn the other cheek, waiting until you feel comfortable enough to tell them that a certain native has captured your heart.
Lo’ak, on the other hand, toes his friendship with you with great caution. He slips through the cracks undetected, crossing the forest to see you when he can. He keeps it hush, locked tight like a vault, but his family knows better. Knows that if he’s not audacious in the way he’s causing trouble, he’s still stirring it up somehow.
Neteyam pounces first.
“Where are you going?” he asks, fingers tight around his younger brother’s shoulders.
“Out,” Lo’ak answers simply.
“Out?” Neteyam mocks, expression flat like he doesn’t believe him.
“Yes, out,” he reiterates, pulling his shoulder from his grasp. “I’ll be back.”
He’s paranoid on the way to you, taking a few detours in the case that his brother, the ever diligent and doting eldest, is tailing him. It weighs heavy on his mind even when he finally makes it to your corner of the jungle unfound.
“Does your village still not know about me?” he asks suddenly, one of the first words he’d uttered since settling behind you, large hands braiding your hair gently as you read quietly to yourself.
You look up from your book, spine straightening.
“No,” you answer honestly. “You told me not to and I honor your wishes.”
He’s silent for a moment before asking another question.
“How would they react?” he asks, starting another braid in hopes to quell the tremor in his fingers. “If they knew about me? About, you know…”
“I think they’d love you,” you say honestly. “Especially if they know you like I do.”
He’s putty in your hands and you don’t even know it. It makes his heart ache and stomach tie because he’s not so sure he could say the same. If his family, or his village, would welcome you with open arms like you say yours would.
“Why?” you ask, turning to face him.
He simply shrugs, doesn’t know how to tell you that he’s brimming with feeling. That the weeks, months he’s spent intermittently spending time with you makes him feel the most alive he has in years. And he especially doesn’t know how to tell you that even if he’s scared shitless, a part of him wants to try, wants to be with you if you’ll have him.
But he doesn’t know what your life is like back at your camp, doesn’t know if you have someone waiting for you. And what would his siblings think? His parents, if he told them he was falling for a—
“Would you like to?” you ask him, hand coming up to touch his face. “To meet them?”
“I mean…” he trails off, scratching the back of his neck. “Could be nice to, you know, see where you—”
You’re staring at him so intently, he stops mid-sentence.
“But I couldn’t return the favor,” he says suddenly, biting the inside of his cheek as he watches the way your expression screws up in confusion.
“What do you mean?” you ask, taking his fidgeting fingers in yours.
“I wouldn’t be able to take you to meet my village,” he says in one breath. “It’s too risky. They’re not really fond of humans and—”
You squeeze his hands, a sad smile gracing your lips that makes his heart wrench.
“I wouldn’t ask that of you, Lo’ak,” you tell him. “I know what the dynamics are like, and rightfully so. Humans have taken a lot from you, from the people. It would be disrespectful to expect them to welcome me.”
He nearly melts, doesn’t know what he’s done to deserve someone like you in his life.
“You’re too good,” he whispers.
“When you’re ready,” you say softly. “If you’re ready, just tell me.”
Neither of you bring up his clan or your village again after that, just enjoy the moments that you spend with each other in the glittering jungle.
“Smile!” you coo, film camera held in both hands as you nestle back against his chest and aim the lens towards your huddled figures.
The motors whir and while you wait for the photograph to develop, you’re turning to face him. Your cheeks warm when you find that he’s already staring down at you, golden eyes soft and lips slightly parted.
“Have you ever listened to the radio?” you ask him, pinching the photo between your fingers to fan it through the air.
“Radio?” he parrots, pulling himself from his reverie.
“Yeah, it plays music,” you tell him. “Sometimes it broadcasts the news, but obviously we don’t get signal here.”
“News?” Lo’ak’s expression is pinched in confusion as you pull away from him and your laugh flutters through the air.
Your skirt pools around your figure when you crouch to rummage through your bag, items clinking and clunking together as you search for the battery-operated music player you smuggled from your friend’s family in the village.
“Here!” you call excitedly, pulling the red and blue player from where it's buried under one of your dozens of leaflets and rolls of film.
You pop the back open to make sure the batteries are still intact, the radiant grin spread across your full lips widening when you fiddle with the buttons and it creaks to life.
The tinny sound of Phil Collins starts playing from the weak little speaker, but you set it on top of a fallen tree trunk and take Lo’ak’s hands in yours.
“Let’s dance,” you giggle, moving in time to the beat of his drums.
“Wait, wait,” Lo’ak calls, embarrassed. “I don’t really…”
“Oh, come on,” you prod, arms gliding through the air as your skirt twirls around you in tandem with the rhythm.
Lo’ak is mesmerized, swallowing down the knot in his throat as you dance like it’s the only thing you’ve ever done. Your movements are fluid, amateur, but makes his heart thrum violently nonetheless.
You sing along with the words, voice smooth and lilting as your feet pad against the grass.
The scene before him is picturesque against the eclipsing sun, your skin warm and dewy under the growing glow of the forest’s glimmer. He itches to capture this moment, freeze it in the frame of a photograph for his eyes only. So when your face arches skyward and you continue singing along with the quiet music, Lo’ak picks up your camera and snaps a clumsy picture.
“Hey!” you burst out laughing, rushing towards him just as the photo begins feeding out of the camera.
“What?” he whispers innocently, jerking the photo from your grasp when you try to reach for it.
“Stop,” you whine. “What if I look stupid?”
“You could never,” he hums, tucking the photograph in his woven satchel.
He knows there no going back from this, going back from you. The night you watch the stars seals his fate.
“There she is,” you croon triumphantly, pointing to the glowing orb.
You and Lo’ak are nestled high above in one of the tree branches. You’re bundled against him, your back to his chest with the warmth of his skin cocooning you as you both watch the slowly shifting sky.
“My dad came from a star,” he says after a pregnant pause, one that makes you lean your head back against his shoulder and play with the fingers splayed across your stomach.
“Really?” you whisper, watching as something flits across the midnight sky.
“Yeah,” he chuffs, other hand pointing eastward. “That one, right there.”
You squint, eyes straining as you try to make out the twinkling blurb.
“What’s he like?” you ask, knuckling the fatigue from your eyes.
“Who?” Lo’ak hums. “My dad?”
“Yeah,” you murmur. “He must be pretty great if he raised someone like you.”
Lo’ak’s at a loss for words, can't admit that while he thinks his dad’s incredible, that all he wants in life is to be like him, he’s not sure if his father feels quite the same. If the disappointment in his gaze and the stone in his voice is anything to go by every time Lo’ak fucks up and gets lectured, he could argue that his father’s efforts to rear a good man have gone in vain.
“Something like that,” he opts to say, cheek nuzzling against yours as you shift further into his hold.
“And your sisters?” you prod, pinkie linking with his.
He’s silent for a moment before a small smile stretches across his lips.
“I think they’d like you,” he says sincerely. “You remind me of both of them, actually, so I think that if you were to ever meet them, they’d love you.”
Like I do, he wants to add.
You hum in response and he can tell you’re getting tired with the way you’ve fallen slack and completely relaxed against him.
“And…your mom?” Your words are coming out slowly, like you’re fighting against sleep and losing.
“She’s amazing,” he says softly. “She’s sacrificed a lot and–”
A long, steady puff of air blows from your nose and Lo’ak shifts a little to see that your eyes have fluttered closed and you’ve pulled the shawl you’d brought with you tighter around your shoulders.
Lo’ak’s always felt that lingering feeling that you could feel it, too. You had to. You wouldn’t wait for him before every eclipse, let him hold you, let him treat you like he loves you if you didn’t.
He gets his answer on a random afternoon in your clearing.
You had bound a thin journal, scrawled your names on it, and now you were in the middle of pasting a picture of you and Lo’ak in the stream to the section you titled Adventures.
“Have you ever been in love?” Lo’ak asks crassly, then clears this throat, backtracking a little to save face. “Like on Earth…or…”
“I was ten when I left home,” you chuckle, flipping to a fresh page.
You start setting leaves and petals against the paper, arranging photographs of you and Lo’ak on various excursions.
Lo’ak swallows.
“So never?” he asks.
You pause your crafting to lean back on your haunches, peering at him through your lashes with the glue brush still in your hand.
“Why?” you deflect.
He fiddles with one of the flowers on the page, shrugging his shoulders.
“Just curious,” he murmurs.
“No,” you answer honestly, after a moment. “I haven’t.”
He nods.
“Do you think you will?” he prods, busying himself with thumbing through the dozens of pictures the two of you have amassed through your time together.
You watch him closely, see the way his ears are flat and his tail thumps quietly against the forest floor. You can’t help but smile when he glances over the top of one of the photos to peek at you.
“It’s very possible,” you respond coyly, picking at a piece of lint on your skirt.
Lo’ak goes rigid, dropping the photos in his lap to look at you. He opens his mouth to say something, but you beat him to it.
“There is someone,” you say seriously, willing the grin creeping at the corner of your lips to relax as you search Lo’ak’s expression for any fissures. “Someone who’s become quite special to me.”
Lo’ak wants to roll his eyes, but you light up and he can’t find it in himself to be ugly.
“All he has to do is say the words,” you whisper, closing the contents of the journal in on itself as you ease closer to him.
He’s sitting with his legs folded one into the other, but you’re eye level as you stand on your knees. One of your hands move a braid behind his ear, settling on his shoulder as the other traces his cheek softly.
Something like hope sizzles in his stomach when he sees how close you are, when he smells the sweet aroma of fruit and herbs in your hair as you inch forward.
“Do you think he will?” he swallows, breath warm against your lips.
Your nose brushes his, waiting for the final plunge.
“I don’t know, Lo’ak, will you?”
A smile grows from ear to ear as Lo’ak leans forward, lips slotting against yours as he seals every last bit of emotion and affection that pools in his gut into a kiss that takes his breath away.
His hands settle on your waist, thumb brushing your scar as you climb into his lap and he pulls you closer.
He doesn’t see the woodsprite that settles on your shoulder as he kisses you feverishly, a silent sign from the Great Mother that being worlds apart will never transcend what the two of you have.
Differences be damned.
an; okay WHEW this one was actually such a challenge! i grappled with wanting to include angst, but i feel like a lot of my writing veers in that direction, so i decided to gift you guys with lo’ak and reader who are in love despite the odds hehehe. although i consider this a long drabble, i do have a lot of cut scenes that i’d be willing to share to turn this into a mini drabble series *side eye* lmaooo. love you all <3

Fanfic you ve been reading recently? Love your tastes btw!
:) You sent this months ago, but here are the fics that I've been reading recently, like this August/September:
"The Mission" by Lunawrayth - Rated M, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. It wasn't that Hinata never expected to work with Naruto, just never on a mission quite like this.
-I check this one for updates so often. at least once a week, but more like multiple times a week.
"thus a silenced memory" by @keroppri - Rated T, Modern AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Eight years flown on by and Naruto makes his return to the city where he once fell in love, only for him to leave hollow and broken after she was persuaded to leave him. Plagued by her memory at every corner, a chance meeting changes fates, minds, and hearts. Thus he tries to silence the memories. Inspired and based on Jane Austen's Persuasion.
-ahhh loving the yearning angst of unrequited love (but it's actually requited) in this fic.
"Amaranthine" by @opttagoyeo - Rated T, Various AU, Series of unrelated one-shots. A few drabbles/ideas ranging from fluff, confusing, humor, and angst regarding the most iconic and popular canon couple of Konohagakure, Naruhina.
-just started reading this! Full of cuteness.
"After Office Hours" by Pandora_Imperatrix - Rated M, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Complete. Naruto is lonely after Sakura and Sasuke left the village to travel together, he keeps leaving the office later and later, things start to change after one night when his secretary Hinata and him share a couple of vending machine beers. In this AU Naruto becomes Hokage a lot earlier than in the manga and The Last never happened.
-It's been years since this was updated, and recently Pandora updated and just finished it!!!!!!
"Friends with benefits" by @pastillesch - Rated T, Modern AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. "I'm dumping you" --Naruto blinked once. Twice. "But we're not even together". It was more a stress relief than anything romantic, really. A hobby one would say. And now it was time to search for a new hobby. Or at least a new partner for this kind of hobby.
-Another one that I was super excited to see updated again!!!!
"Casual Touches" by Lunawrayth - Rated M, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. It's the casual touches that do it.
-Since I'm really feeling Luna's style, I checked out this story, too, and it's super cute. Love it.
"Fairy Tale" from "NaruHina Erotica Oneshots" by @makuro767 - Rated E, Fantasy AU, Two-shot. Naruto moved to an old family home to start anew and found an unlikely existence in his backyard...
-I am a total sucker for this type of size difference au. Like, it's just such a weird trope. It's just so weird. I love it. Makuro767 does a wonderful job with it!
"Love Is Not A Cage" by @nightowl27-writer - Rated E, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. When Naruto comes back to his senses after the battle with Pein, the first thing he remembers are those baffling words she said just before she nearly died for him, and he NEEDS to hear them again. Will the truth set them free? Or are some confessions too much for the soul?
-that recent update killed me. In a good way. but oh man.
"Hinata (Mirror, Mirror)" from "Chicken Ramen for the Pervert's Soul" by @wickermayne - Rated E, Canon-Compliant, One-shot. Naruto rolled his eyes at the purchase asking why she needed it and complained about how much room it took up, but Hinata enjoyed modeling different dresses in front of it, loved how it let her see all the many different angles. And that seemed to keep Naruto quiet enough about the mirror.
-🙊🙈🔥
So, I guess it's been months since I worked on this list. Because it's nearing the end of March 2024 now. And up at the top, apparently I was last working on this list in September 2023. And at that time, it had been "months" since the asker sent this. Well, here's the ones I've been reading recently:
"clash of possession - naruhina" by @powerful-niya - Rated E, Yakuza AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. In the heart of the yakuza underworld of Tokyo, the passing of Hiashi, the leader of the Hyūga clan, does more than just break Hinata's heart, but it exposes her to vulnerability. Seizing the opportunity, the ruthless Naruto, Uzumaki clan leader, targets not only the conquest of the Hyūga clan but also wishes to claim Hinata as his most prized possession, no matter the cost.
-It's been awhile since I read an irredeemable Naruto, and Niya's not lying when she calls the characterization ruthless!!
"Prey" by @sessakag - Rated E, Modern/Gangs AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Following a midnight chance encounter with Hinata Hyuuga, a smitten sociopath, Naruto Uzumaki, tries his hand at romance, determined to make her fall in love with him the only way he knows how.
-it's the mystery of Hinata's background that really fuels this piece for me. Icing on the cake is Naruto as a wonderfully sexy and dangerous stranger and the sexual tension between them that is absolutely exquisite.
"Paper Rings" by Its_Levioooosaa - Rated E, College/Soulmates AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. In a world where soulmates are found after a touch and after a brief moment of pain, resulting in a red loop circling the first knuckle of each person's pinky finger. Fating the two people together and leaving it up to them to decide what their relationship will be. Hinata had just stopped at her friends for a piece of pizza, little did she know that she'd be leaving with a soulmate.
-It's a cute premise and I can't wait to see what happens next! I love a good soulmate AU!
"Wanting More Than A Poolside View" by @bunny-hoodlum - Rated E, High School AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Just a Sukumizu fetish scenario where Hinata is the target of a panty thief and recruits Naruto to investigate himself.
-I've been loving all of Bunny's updates this year, but I'm really hoping for an update on this one....or Narutoland haha, but I dunno what it is about High School NaruHina and their immaturity, it's just so fun!
Kay, that's all. If I don't post this now, I never will lol.

Yander Loak x Female Human Reader
Slow Burn
Drabble
There was no doubt that when it came to you, Loak Sully was an obsessive Yandere. He kidnapped you from the base of Quaritch one night.
You were chained up and drugged. However, Loak was a gentleman. He would feed you by hand and brush your long hair each day during the afternoon.
He asked you if he could bathe you but you got mad. Loak didn't want to force himself on you. He could've raped you and did whatever by force. But, he loved you for real and not just listed after you. He could've killed you after he was finished with you but didn't want to.
He was obsessed but not mean. If you have him attitude and disrespected him, he would warn you to shut up. But if you continued, he would raise his hand as if he were to slap you. But, he was just bluffing.
One day, you realized he was lying. So you mouthed off to him. Loak clenched his jaw in annoyance. He was never respected at home and now the woman he loves.
He slapped you hard.
Then he left without looking at you. You cried. He came back and apologized.
(this is from the Bollywood movie, dil se. Don't change your race. Just imagine bathing like this please.)
You sighed in exhaustion. You were stressed being away from your people. Loved by an alien freak.
No one likes you on earth or at the base. A monster of all people took a liking to you.
You gave in.
Here you were now, giving yourself a bath. You were too busy to see the young Navi staring at you. You then turned and saw him.
His eyes. They were longing with lust of course. But also sadness and yearning. It hurt your heart. He was nothing but kind to you and you were always ill mannered and rude.
You lowered your eyes in guilt. Maybe you are in the wrong. Humans destroyed earth now they will destroy Pandora. Maybe it was a good thing you got kidnapped. You were the bad guy.
Gulping with nervousness, you said nothing and continued to wash your body.
Loak continued staring. He walked over you and with a towel stood you up from the water and guided you back. He dried you up. You covered your breasts with your hands. You blushed.
Loak saw that and smirked. He dressed you up like a baby. Yes, he inserted your underwear and put on your bra.
He then pushed you gently down on your hammock by the shoulders. You drew a big breath. Loak bent over and placed a chaste kiss on your forehead and left without a word.
Maybe he wasn't so bad after all...
The next day, Loak realized you submitted at last. He was surprised because he expected many more months. But he knew you would give in eventually.
He couldn't believe his luck to be so soon.
He first kissed you and fondled your breasts. He bathed you and fed you.
Then you started talking to him and let yourself laugh.
Eventually, he took your virginity. He looked happy he was your first despite being human.
"how could a lovely creature be pure in adulthood?" He asked.
"no human liked me." You said.
"I know that feeling." Loak sighed.
You revealed Quaritch secrets to Loak and he told his family. That bastard got killed by his dad and finally, his goons were killed by other Navis.
Jake asked Loak how he knew all the info. When Loak brought you forth, the family was shocked. Eventually, they accepted you and were grateful to you for saving their home.

a small drabble for @sixteenth-day-event with the prompt "a silent grave"
tw for implied/referenced torture because, well, torture box, y'know? also potential slight suicide ideation
Sleep in Pandora’s Vault is fleeting, coming in flashes, quick increments that leave Dream more dazed and restless than before. It’s never an escape—even in his bursts of sleep, the incessant dripping of the crying obsidian plays the role of a backing symphony, and the ache of his body never leaves him for a moment. He’s never sure how long the sleep lasts—the last clock he burnt still hasn’t been replaced—but with how tired he feels, he can’t imagine it’s that long.
Before, he used to shift around between his moments of slumber. He’d walk up and wander around the cell, settling down in a different corner as if searching for a more comfortable spot. Now, though, his vision swims as rushes of vertigo overcome him whenever he tries to sit up, let alone walk around. He definitely got a head injury of some sorts a few visits ago, and not even healing potions provide an instant fix to those. But, even before he became afflicted with light-headedness, the prospect of moving lost all appeal, considering how his entire body flares with pain at any sort of motion. So, he stays still, even as the jagged obsidian digs into his back, aggravating the wounds there.
Sometimes, rarely, he’s granted true sleep, and he dreams. The dreams are never pleasant—it’s as though his mind only wishes to cycle through a few dreams, including recounts of sir’s visits, that day in the attachment vault, George and Sapnap, and more. Most of the time, he’s unaware that he’s dreaming, but this time he finds himself in the one dream he’s always lucid for.
He’s sitting beside a small, unremarkable grave, unable to move, as though he were tethered to it. It’s always silent. Not even the creatures of the world venture close, and it makes something perhaps akin to bitterness coil in his heart, that even the animals of his world that had been his steady companions don’t bother to visit him in death.
But, all things considered, it’s not the worst dream. Sure, the laughter of his friends the server members that echo from outside his vision grate on him, and their obvious joy in the world post-his demise is unsurprising but stings nonetheless, but it’s not painful. It’s not limbo nor Pandora, and sure he can’t feel the sun, and he’s not entirely sure his mind is conjuring the apparitions of the sky and trees correctly, but it’s still peaceful, in a way. He thinks if death were like this, maybe solving its mysteries wouldn’t be such a necessity.
And when he awakes to the sound of pistons, he thinks that maybe spending eternity in a silent grave wouldn’t be so bad.
#sixteenthdayevent#dreblr#I would've written more but I got distracted lol so just a short drabble this time#writing from the void

I have a prompt for you, if it makes u feel inspired! Reader is human, grew up with the sully boys (like Spider) but as her life was in danger, she transfers to her own avatar. The boys (+ Kiri if you'd like!) help her adapt? With lots of physical touch stuff and pining maybe- its all up to you! Thank you!!!
𝐈 𝐆𝐎𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 — (SULLY BOYS + KIRI) ʚ ɞ
✰༉ — (avatar : twow) -> drabble !
-> cw. ࿐ gn + non sully + human -> navi reader
-> auth notes. ࿐ omg tysm for this req , i really enjoyed writing this idea — i hope u enjoy ! ^^
-> characters. ࿐ neteyam , lo’ak + kiri sully (♡⃕)
-> warnings. ࿐ tiny bit of angst , might contain spoilers ! injury warning
✧ ﹒ ♡ ⁺ ៹ ﹒ ♡ ﹒ ✧ ₊ ✧ ﹒ ♡ ⁺
NETEYAM . ༉‧₊˚
` don’t be afraid, i am right behind you ` .
ଘ human form — he is agile, it is no secret. navi bodies are sinewy and cut from a general, visual audit. but neteyam is kind and slow when it comes to you — he will often curb his pace when you assay or strain your body too much. as an after-stroke, you share bodily sagacities of your own capabilities or struggles ( i.e. your inability to breathe pandora air — as a requital for the info you share, he will aid you in finding masks to breathe suitably + check in on you ) he is unconditional in his love and sacrifice for you, despite the visible difference in aspect, he makes up for it with connection and patience. upholds a lot of interest in human strength + bodily capabilities, so expect a lot of physical touch if you allow him it. he would try to shield you from harm’s way from a lot of things, take the blame for countless misgivings. i also see him as a massive sucker for your hands / feet; he’d find it adorable how soft and small they were compared to his. however, he isn’t a machine — his frustrations will come belting after a tough day, ties of “it’s hard slowing down always, okay!” and when you visibly pull away in hurt and confusion, he will seek you out and apologise. apologise first and foremost. then, if you give way, he will draw you close and exude his frustrations with his family. and when you giggle, let him know that you trust him. grab his hand. rub his knuckles till they’re warm and oozing with an amity unmatched. expect tears, love and a bond re-strengthened, twisted and woven into new.
` your tail , it’s longer . hey , you’re still smaller ! ` .
ଘ navi form — i reckon it’s due to battle wounds / misgivings that you would have to ultimately switch to navi — he’d find you in a heap between shrubs and vegetation, huddled and breathing all too loud. when the transference process occurs, this kid is all tears and fear — he is at your side at any give able moment. it is initially hard for him to deliberate on the change; as eywa twines around the small of your naked back, embosoms your body and counts you for new, he sees life being surged into a newer body. similar to his mother in the first film, he will bid farewell to your old body and render the patch of skin with love and devotion, an orison from eywa. then, after the overhaul, your similarity in nature is easily similar — your height had doubled and your hips had snapped to within a couple of inches. whilst his siblings are less altruistic with their giggles and amusement when you trip over wet, soft shrubs or aren’t accustomed with your legs, he will stunt his speed and carry you with both his hands. just as you had once been patient in fashioning a bond with the sully boy, he will shirk hours upon hours teaching you efficacious routes, how to stretch your legs past the horizon. he would be very verbal + compassionate, a constant string of “come on, let’s do it again.” due to your inexperience with your navi body , he’d be hesitant to amass the same physical touch as he did before , but when you tell him you miss him, best believe his heart is swelling and he won’t keep off you. definitely praises you when you overcome a particularly hard challenge or recuperate from an emotional defeat — ready to jump from the heights of the mountains when you do.
LO’AK ౨ৎ ࣪ . ⊹ :
` you’re short . cute . come , follow me ` .
ଘ human form — heavily influenced by his carnal interests in humans, in you — he isn’t foreign to the aspect of your body, when he is already close to spider. he understands their basic strokes and interests and motivations. how your heart beat is amassed. how your feet and hands are smaller. he’s a grabber for sure, constantly feeling your pinkies or thumbs, stroking the back of your palms, having you raw and flustered for him. on a certain occasion, he had grabbed you effortlessly and swung you onto his lean shoulders, giggling the entire time you are punting his back. he would also be very open to bring you to every inch’s worth of pandora if he was able to — for now, the forest was his heart’s domain ( he makes sure your escapades are safe and secret ). i reckon he’d love your eyes — they’re smaller and glassy, like two globes. he wasn’t always this artless — in the mere happening’s of your relationship, he was rather quiet and kept to himself. it was a certain turning point that depicted that pleasant change; helping him with chores or painlessly kicking him out of harm’s way. he’d be surprised, with your stature already lacking a far way off his, yet your heart was strong. mighty. and half of his already.
` you’re beautiful … but still cute . and smaller ` .
ଘ navi form — i would see him as less than capable of keeping still in battle — he’ll want to be here and there and do this and that, that he’d ultimately blur the line between it and your inability to perform certain things. i reckon it’d be something small, like a slip, or miscalculation in a certain route, and your mask cracks beyond relief or you twist your ankle and are barely conscious as you grit your teeth. i’d see him scooping you up and booking it for the lab — there is a redundant existence of a few avatars and he’s sweat and bones and a little boy holding all your weight, towering above your wheezing body as he plugs you in and withstands his father’s words. the only thing on his mind would be the smell of your blood and struggles, how “it’s my fault… mine…” — after the process, he’d be more than happy to support your quavery limbs and blurry vision. in the future, i’d definitely see him as a trial and error sort of individual + a lot of silent affirmation, presence to keep you grounded. loves, loves, loveeees your ears + tail, he thinks they’re true insight into your deepest wishes and the slightest twitches have him smirking. this cheeky boy would definitely do the most to keep his hand on yours at most times, heart rate hurdling. but he’d spend a life time protecting your honour and life, still that boy eagerly palming half of your heart.
KIRI ・⸝ . 𖥔
` what is a pinkie ? come , sit. tell me ` .
ଘ human form — absolutely enamoured by you. after befriending spider, she is intrigued by humans, having had a human mother. i reckon she’s incredibly inquisitive with your true nature. she doesn’t strike me as an individual to constantly remind you of the difference between you and her; the obvious dissimilarity between the two of you is squashed immediately when you pose your deepest respects for eywa and her countless creations. her verdure. her strength. her heartbeat, mighty. she finds no hesitation confiding in you of her origins or her ‘weirdness.’ she does tend to close off from you in select portions of emotions, when she too overwhelmed. but when she sees you, set apart from the countless, tall beings around you, digging your toes in the sand and painstakingly trying to blend into the noiseless background, she’ll join you. she’ll guide your hand to the heightening marshes or breathing strands of grass. her favourite part of you is definitely your personality + ability to adapt.
` your heartbeat is strong , still , like her ` .
ଘ navi form — i assume since she’s almost always subsumed in lo’ak’s escapades into the deepest inches of the forest, you would take a tumble or wander too far from her eye, whilst she’s synchronous with the life around her. it takes her several minutes to gather herself and place her tremulous hands onto your chest, feeling your heartbeat lodged deep within your bones and flesh — she knows you have more to give. your body is a vessel of energy, where is it borrowed and exchanged for when it is appropriate. so i reckon she wouldn’t find it strange at all when you transfer over to navi. she would definitely need to get used to the similarity in height + appearance, but she would be excited to show you the countless other things connected to eywa + pandora. definitely not as much of a toucher as her brothers but loves holding your hand + braiding your hair into protective styles. jealous when lo’ak or neteyam try to buy your time -> would never say it out loud but her body language is clear and booming. spends entire days teaching you + hugging you tightly when things go off radar, silent and understanding because the feeling of you always chases her.

introducing Neteyam to your spirit sister Neteyam x Reader gn pronouns
( its been a few weeks since the arrival of jake sully and his family
when they arrived your father ordered you and your younger siblings to teach the sully kids the way of your people.
its not long til the cycle of the tulkun migration continues and you are reunited with your spirit sister. )
-
"THEYRE HERE ! The tulkun have returned" Neteyam gives your smiling face a confused look. you pull him up and urge him towards the commotion
in the short distance you hear joy and laughter, people run past you both as you slowly catch up to your siblings who already approach the tulkun. Na'vi and tulkun share their joy together as you both pass by, theres a beautiful connection that surround the two of you , engulfing Neteyam in the beauty of your clan.
you see your spirit sister Anyih from a distance and you can sense her excitement as she does yours , you pull him closer to you and he follows behind, swimming to the large creature
finally reconnected after many eclipses you tell eachother stories of your past journeys , current journeys and the joy overwhelms you when Anyih notices him presence
when you feel an arm wrap around your waist you finally turn to the first born sully, you sign to him the this is your spirit sister , Anyih.
you watch him give a playfully shy wave.
she judges him curtly and you could give a joyful laugh at the moment if you werent under water.
she sounds out a playful sound of approval which leaves you both confused but dont ask on.
for next few hours the 3 of you travel lengths of the oceans that would get you all killed if those in your clan found you returning just after ecplise, yous just laid there letting the ocean take yous further away while you all stared at the eclipse , feeling nete's hand guide some hair out of your face you smile at him , as he does to you , lost in the comfort of your smile
the sudden large splash pulls you both back into pandora , Anyih is laughing as she rolls around in the water , watching the impact of you both being pushed under water , this is when the three of you decide to head back
when they leave neteyam is already asking you many questions about the tulkun , you share with him the many stories you have of playing with the beloved tulkun getting up to no good
the two of you laugh soundly , enjoying the others joy , hand in hand your head casually leaning on his chest while his skinny monkey tail caresses yours , eclipse slowly sets in that night
"that was awesome" Neteyam says beside you with a smile
it was uncommon to you , the two of you met not long ago but you feel so comfortable with him , youve adored when his eyes connected with yours since the day he came here
to him your touch no matter the form could fire his heart beat for millenniums to come
in his eyes your presence is all he needs for his heart to heal from years of trying to be great for his father
when hes with you he doesnt feel judged and he loves that his soul always finds safety with you
- end
